It’s been a insanely crazy week of preparation for me.  It’s the first time I’ve really put a significant amount of time, thought and energy into everything that I do.  In the past I would sometimes feel rushed and find myself making careless mistakes.  I’m making a conscious effort to be less reactive, more pro-active and be accountable for my deadlines.  It feels good to slow down a bit and pay more attention; not just to my work but also my relationships and day to day activities.

I had the chance to reconnect with some old friends and I made some really awesome new friends.  I’ve made some really hard decisions mentally that I plan on carrying out, and I’ve been stern with things that in the past I had a hard time sticking to my guns.  I’m growing and I can feel it everyday in the decisions I choose to make, in my newfound responsibility to myself personally and professionally and in the way I’m beginning to look at people and things around me.  My perspective is certainly changing.

I’ve made some traction towards some of my goals this year and I’m going to rise to the occasion when opportunity rings and just see what happens … why not?

I will soon be launching a series of Roller Skating events titled, United We Bounce. Hosted by Doug E. Fresh.  This event will launch in February 2010 in Los Angeles.  I met with the owner of the venue this week and it looks like we’re going to be able to get the first event off the ground very soon. We’ve been working on this event for the past 6 months and it felt really good to meet the owner and have a productive and positive meeting.  Booking the venue is always a good start in the right direction.

Styles Upon Styles is set to still launch in San Francisco at the end of February 2010.  We are steadily preparing for the celebration. Again, I have a super important phone meeting on Friday that I’ve been preparing for and I’m crossing my fingers for the opportunity to work with this company.  They would be an amazing addition to the concept and growth.  I’ll definitely keep everyone posted on this.  We are working on solidifying  the logo, budget and promotional partners, t shirt company etc.  I went with Faye Boogie to go scope out the venue that we’re going to use for the Los Angeles Styles Upon Styles.  It’s fresh. I can’t wait!

Rock Your Sole-We hit a little challenge in the road with this event because the venue we’d like to use is completely booked through September 2010.  Every single day.  I couldn’t believe it.  It’s crazy. So we’re going to have to re-think and brainstorm other venue options.  Obstacles like this make everything more worthwhile when everything comes together.  This is the nature of the game.

Non Profit Organization Supporting Haiti Relief

Angels for Haiti — I think we’ve confirmed the date for January 27th 2010 at the Avalon in Hollywood, Ca.  We are currently awaiting confirmation on talent.  Drake Muse – creator of A Taste of Chicago in Los Angeles has signed on to co promote this event as well.  All proceeds will be given to Wyclef’s foundation Yele Haiti. More details to come tomorrow.

United We Bounce will be done in conjunction with the Honey Collective.  I’m very excited to launch our Honey Collective events in 2010. We have so many exciting things planned for our supporters. Our calendar is absolutely amazing and we’re ready to get this year started.  We will be sending out a calendar very soon.  🙂

As for ME! I’m loving and learning more with each day that passes.  I thank god everyday for those special moments that pass  when I feel at peace in my mind and my heart.  I’ve been smiling and laughing, enjoying old friends and making a lot of new ones.  It’s a significant time in my life and it’s my time to SHOW UP … for me.

Photo with my girls...Faye boogie, Arianna, Jazymin, Faye Boogie, and Citrus...Wait where's Belle???

Sometime last week, I was invited to World Famous’s Christmas Party brought you by the ladies of World Famous. First of all, I’ve known many of these women for a very long time and they’ve definitely been amazing friends whom I’ve laughed, cried, drank, partied and I look at as part of my family.  We had the best time ever!  The Dj, the drinks, the laughter, the LOVE and did I mention the girls can COOK?!  The food was beyond ridiculous.  Home made mac and cheese, chicken enchiladas, greens, potatoes, garlic edamame, bbq, cooked salmon, the best salsa I’ve ever tasted and biscuits to name just a few.  Jazymin brought her daughter over and she is just like Jaz!  She’s a “dancing machine!”  These ladies have been through so much with me and I am eternally grateful for their friendship!  being around the love of great friends made me smile all night:)
